Not sure if all vehicles have a PCV (at least not like the ones on the hemi engines), but the crankcase is ventilated to the intake manifold just behind the throttle body or toward the back of the manifold and oil blows through there and into your intake/engine. Mine is made specifically for Ram trucks out of billet...here is what it looks like installed:
Here is what it looked like after a thousand miles or so:
It's normally filled a little less than half after 3000 or so miles of driving. So basically, all that's in the canister would have gone through the intake and into the combustion chambers if not for the catch can.
