That's pretty common in college football though, if you wait until your receiver is actually open it is too late. The QB has to anticipate whether the defender is in position to keep up and in this case he clearly wasn't, he was angling in to cheat inside instead.
Cameron probably noticed a tendency here, took a shot and the players just executed a simple toss and catch, simple as that. Well done.

Truth, it was just a beautiful thing to witness.
They absolutely noticed that. They knew it would be there. I believe they (players and coaches) even commented on this.
