So I have never been big into hunting, but I love to shoot. pistols primarily and all the shite tgat comes with being an infantry Marine
. A buddy of mine took me skeet shooting and I loved it. I would really like to get a shotgun that I could use for skeet and possibly ducks. Can I get some advice on some guns ?
I'm 5'8 170 fwiw.

I bought a Remington Versamax last year and I love it. Most guys will recommend a remington 870, beretta, or benelli though.

Has your versamax given you any troubles? I have heard some mixed reviews about them.

To the OP, I have a benelli supernova and love it. I bought it because I can put it through hell and back and it will still go boom. The new 870's don't seem to be as well constructed as the old 870's IMO. You can't go wrong with a benelli, browning, or beretta.

First question is do you want a pump or semi?

I'm gonna use this thread to shamelessly plug my Browning B-80. They'll all be used, but if you come across one in your search with the 3" Mag full choke barrel then don't look back.

You will like an auto or an over/under better for skeet than a pump.

I love it. From skeet to goose loads it cycles them all without fail. Plus, it tames 3 1/2s. 3 1/2s out of my versamax are softer than 3s out of my 870. I decided that I wouldn't let money be an object when buying a good duck gun. I shot the versamax, berettas, and Benellis. The versamax fit me the best.
