Quarterman was starting to give him some game experience. His length will be needed on defense at some point this season and he will need to know how to run the offense while he is in. I think Hickey was always going to be the starter in huge games like the old spice classic and SEC play. Whoever it was that said Quarterman doesnt look talented is retarded. He looks bery good handling the ball, passing, and driving to the hoop. His problem at this point is that he isn't a very polished shooter. That's something that will hopefully come around. With that being said, the dude had more assists in this game than Hickey did so he's definitely doing some things right as a point guard. Keep in mind that he has only played 3 college basketball games and he was never considered to be an Andrew Wiggins type instant impact player

we won 81-54. who cares if Quarterman took some minutes from Hickey. In fact, I'd be pissed if he didn't in a game like this. It'll be nice in the 2nd half of SEC play when Hickey's legs are a little more fresh than if he had to play 35 minutes in games that we win by 20+. and, that doesn't even take into account the possibility that playing might actually make Quarterman better.

But even if he doesn't get better this year, the benefits of not making Hickey play 35 minutes against loser teams is more than worth it. We already know what Hickey gives us. As long as we keep winning, let him relax and prepare himself for SEC play. We're going to need everything from him to compete in the SEC this year.
