If you don't need the money (because it doesn't pay all that well)< I agree with getting certified to referee high school sports.
I've done it in the past - you get to work with jackasses just like in real life. $90 a game for football (usually can get two games a week, as junior high games are covered as well). Basketball you can make $100 a night officiating girls and boys high school games. \
My buddy's wife works about 10 hours a week retail to give her something to do, and to get a significant discount on crap - come to think of it, that job probably costs her more than she makes.

I have my full time business that I own, I am an adjunct prof and I ref basketball, football and soccer.
