I don't know if I agree. Miami punished itself late in both years when they knew there was no chance go to a big bowl. If they were undefeated one of those years I have a feeling they may not have banned themselves.

To their credit, they learned from OSU and took the extra step of banning themselves a 2nd year. If not for the bowl ban, OSU would likely be defending national champs and sitting pretty at #1 in the polls with no worries in the world

I don't think OSU would've beat Alabama last year.

To be fair, I believe last year, they banned themselves while leading their division and many thought they had a solid shot to win their division. Just that gets you playing for a BCS bowl.

Defending national champ runner up, but yea I agree, Miami learned the lesson from OSU.
