The tracks are railroad gauge, you can't put a street car (one with a trolley) or light rail on them.

Until the early 60's a train came from New Orleans to the game, is that economically feasible today?

Amtrak isn't going to do it? Who has an engine and passenger cars?



actually, the NO Public Belt Railroad had three recently refurbished passenger cars....there is also the Louisiana Steam Train Association which owns SP-745 and several passenger cars as well...

there are streetcars in standard gauge, but how do you provide power?

what you really need are some self-propelled commuter train cars, but the closest place that has them is probably Chicago....
