Pierce's position wasn't but Garnett's absolutely was.
Garnett had to waive his no trade. If he doesn't waive it, the Celtics don't deal Pierce. Garnet absolutely chose to get off of a sinking ship to go to greener pastures.

But Pierce and Rivers were leaving...and the Celtics were wanting to go young. I mean did he really have a choice? Why stay with just Rondo?
Ray Allen left for less money. The Celtics tried to keep him and wanted to make one more run, but he bailed.
So I have a hard time seeing Garnett's situation comparable to Allen's.
At the end of the day, who cares about all this bitching. It's all pretty childish imo...I'm just ready for the season to start.
