They typically scheduled 4-5 top 15 teams like FSU and ND and a few mediocre independents like Tulsa and Cincy. Would you call that strong or weak?

Nebraska was excellent but was lucky to play OU and Texas during the Mackovic/Gibbs/Blake eras. Their toughest games were against aTm and K State.

I am not a Bama apologist. I hate them. But they would have been unbeaten there too.
