LSU was not "nailed" last year.
One MAJOR turnover by one of our best players last year (OBJ), loss of a couple of key OLinemen in the 1st quarter against a VERY good defensive line......otherwise, a nail-biter. Coaches got conservative after the Mett interception, defense tired in the 4th quarter, and FLA was able to have one last sustained drive to run the clock out. Pretty much the same (only flipped in LSU's favor this year).....not a "hammer/nail", but more of a "grinder"....thus, Les' multiple reference to a "Scrum". Tigers finally wore 'em down!
Last words here - the fact that Les has honest "respect" for the opponent versus most narcissistic fans and observers who think it's "all about them" is what I respect the most about Miles - he loves the game and understands that talent is only part of the winning equation - preparation, passion, and a little bit of good luck are important, too.... it's what makes college football all that it should be!
