Every time they interview Hurdle he just gives off this "aw shuks man, this sure is fun isn't it?" That's fine every once and a while but at some point it comes off as if he doesn't even care if they win
i'm not going to pretend i'm some long suffering pirate fan that has a huge amount invested in the team. i only got here a couple of years ago, and i didn't really grow up w/ a team, so i got on the bandwagon, bought a ticket package, etc.

it has been absolutely maddening watching hurdle manage this season. on one hand, he's embraced statistics and analysis through the management of the staff and defensive positioning. he's also clearly a good motivator, and leader. by all appearances, he's got the respect of the team and they like playing for him. plus, he held the team together through a really tough run of injuries ahead of the break (80% of the opening day starters are no longer available + walker going down). to top it all off, he's a great leader in the community and vocally champions special needs charities (he has a special needs daughter as well).

Given all of that, i could scream "act like you give a shite!" at the TV whenever they interview him. Or "why are you protecting AJ's feelings during game 1, get someone up!" or "why on earth is Morton going back out!" or "why are you bunting ahead of Cutch!" or "Pedro against a lefty! what!"

I said it in a previous game, and i mean it -- he is the Dale Brown of MLB.
