So Gage is better than Hootie?

Coaches would have liked Hootie to participate in their camps. He never did and he continues to grow. He will always be a top target just from his football game tape and potential. It will be interesting to see who gets left out if there is one scholarship left and Gage, Young, and Mcdowell are still uncommitted. Just for clarification, I'm not saying Gage is taking Hootie's scholarship. Gage would be closing the door on a Ramirez and Young commit if both Hootie and Garret commit to LSU. Hootie can commit even if we already have 24 safeties signed. I'm just saying from certain coaches standpoint it might not be as big of a drop off as it may seem. From my interpretation from reading many different websites (opinion only);they like Gage better in coverage but like Hootie better in physicality and playmaking ability.

You actually seem like you know what you're talking about, so what do you think about our chances with Hootie? As of right now I'm feeling like 55-45 Bama

bayou blazer, Nola.com is not the only major LSU website with people in the know saying Gage is on the cusp of a scholarship. The kid is close. I think LSU is waiting to see if they can make headway on a big national name first (Adoree Jackson, Kentravious Street, etc) and then go from there. As far as the guy asking about Hootie, i'm kind of with you in that I believe Bama has a slight lead right now. In interviews over the summer Hootie always had some very pro LSU vibes. These last 2 to 3 interviews have been more even however he talks repeatedly about his connections with players all at Bama and how Bama was recruiting him harder (from an interview a couple of months ago might have changed now). I have heard from every website that his mom is very pro LSU so i'm hoping that can be the gamechanger but supposedly so was CRob's mom.

I've heard Napier is telling everyone that it's a done deal to Bama. S/S are saying that he's doing that to create a pro-Bama vibe while another guy that is very much in the know says he wouldn't do that. I trust all of those guys but that's just each of their opinion.

If we take Gage we have wiffed, and I mean wiffed on 4 or 5 other guys we wanted to close the class. He is a good player but not in our top 25 for 14.
