Really wish I could have seen him play.
I got to see him first hand while playing at EDW. Us and Patterson battled it out every year for the District Championship. Dude was a freak starting as a 9th grader. They had a one two punch with Hillard and Butler. Butler was a man child as well but don't think he had it upstairs. I don't even think he went on to play college ball.
His senior year we were playing at EDW and he had 125 yards in the first quarter until he...errr we broke his ankle. Not proud of that but it was what it was back then.

Jerry Butler went on to Southeastern. Not sure if he played long. From my sophomore year in high school until I graduated I followed the state stats in the Baton Rouge State Times. I remember Butler and Hilliard both had 1000 yard seasons in '79. I can't remember if Butler graduated in 80 or 81.
