Because Jordan knows he is in Kobe's head. Kobe is obsessed with Jordan. Kobe isn't a threat to Jordan's legacy, and Jordan knows it. Why? Because Jordan knows that, even if Kobe wins 3 more rings, KOBE wouldn't think he is better than Jordan. You see, Jordan has already won.

LeBron knows he is better than Kobe. LeBron knows he is better than Jordan. Jordan knows it too. That's why he (MJ) has to say things like this. He's scared.
