Seems like this would cannibalize business from Latil's Landing, no? Nearly the same prices.
I got to go to soft opening the other night. Food was amazing. Had Zapp's potato chip crusted grouper, Community Coffee Sliders, and bloody Mary shrimp cocktail. Everything was superb.
Looks like the property is going through massive expansions. They add several cottages for overnight stay. The New Place is more casual, entrees ranging from $16-$30 instead of Latil's fine dining that is $30-$48 an entree.
Also, the new building is one of the most gorgeous rooms I have ever seen, and I got to tour the new show kitchen. Houmas House is really first class.

I also was at the soft opening, and Chef Jeremy Langlois has created a menu that is imaginative and one that I believe everyone will enjoy sampling. Some of my favorites were the Corned Beef & Cabbage soup, the Zapp's Potato Chip Crusted Grouper, and the River Road Sliders. It's a little more casual menu than Latil's Landing. But the quality and presentation is still at as high a level as Latil's.
