Sounds a lot like the wife's lasagna, which she first made for me in 1971, and maybe a hundred times since then. It is our two son's favorite day after Christmas day meal. If fact I can assure you that is what will be served at our house on December 26th this year, with leftovers on the 27th and maybe 28th, if she makes two or three pans like she has so many times in the past.
