I'd like to make my own food and beverage choices, thanks.

Don't be so offended I was just saying I'd find it sexy for him to do. He'd never choose my meal for me.. and rarely chooses drinks. Generally, he'll tell me what he's drinking and I'll want the same anyway (when it's wine).

My tipping percentage will definitely be thinner when a server makes the mistaken assumption that I'm not the host of a business luncheon simply because I'm female (or short, LOL). Alpha male body language and/or gender aren't the best indicator of who's paying the tab. Most servers I encounter have moved beyond the "hand the dude the check" attitude, fortunately.

Again, try not to be so offended as it's probably just what the server assumes.. and the server is probably a kid just trying to do what they think is the right thing.

I'm not talking about alpha male attitude. I'm talking about the way someone talks to you when they are the one hosting/paying. It's VERY clear who is the head of a group by the way they don't sit back and say nothing to you.. they always talk to you directly and it's obvious they planned/are paying for the meal.

If you want the bill handed to you without acting like the person in charge, take the server aside and ask for the check.

You think it sounds simple, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen an angry black woman flip and call everyone racist because the check/her change was set on the table instead of her hands. Some servers feel they need to hand it directly to someone, and they assume the man. It's not a large enough deal to be feminazi over.. they're probably 18 and have no idea

What an ugly term. I'm simply pointing out that a good server should quickly learn (or be trained) not to make gender based assumptions in the year 2013. I'm not talking about high school and college kids at Chilis and its ilk, I'm referring to non-chain, from upscale casual & fine dining. Yes, subtle is hard, but it's what separates the pros from the part timers.
