Funny you mention Mark Schlereth. The reason I singled out him, Merrill Hoge, and Ron Jaworski is that they played at Idaho, Idaho State, and Youngstown State respectively. They routinely speak of the transition of college to pro football as if every last detail of pro football will make each and every last NFL rookie will wilt in terror the second they enter an NFL stadium. It's as if they think their college experience playing in front of high school crowds is somehow typical of every college football player's experience and that playing in front of Raider fans or the Dog Pound in Cleveland is going to make a former SEC player piss his pants in fear. It's that lack of respect and perspective for big time college football that people like Ron Jaworski has that I'm talking about. It's one of the things I find about the off the charts delusional arrogance and dismissing of the college game that I find so annoying about some elements of the NFL.
For the record, I'm a big Saints fan and love the NFL. I just resent the attitude of so many NFL elitists and the seeming lack of respect they have for the college game.
