Whaddya have as the critical aspects to get the W this week?
Mine:
Offense- #2 & #3 WRs. Rookie CB Marcus Trufant and possibly rookie CB Alford (from SLU) will be on the field at the same time. Brees will exploit them to the max. Could be some eye popping numbers for Lance & Stills.
Defense- Pass rush. Surprise, surprise. Now we get to see what this D looks like with real bullets. The right side of the Atl O-line has been questionable at best this preseason. Depending on the ref crew, their RT Holmes could have multiple holding calls.
I'll add a Part B on defense being to keep Steven Jackson from having a monster day. Containing him as a receiver will be nearly as vital as his rushes.

not necessarily, the winner of this game since 2006 has scored 28.8pts. Curiously, that is exactly what the Saints averaged per game last season.

1. Limit our turnovers.. Turn them over.
2. Protect Brees
3. Stop the run.

Stopping the run on D. We have to make them one dimensional. On the other side we have to have a balanced attack which opens up our playbook!
If we do these things well we win by double digits. If not it could be a nail biter.

Gallette, Tez, and Vaccaro
1. Gallette and Tez have to limit big plays by getting some kind of pressure from the outside. Their WRs will get theirs, but we have to make them work for it.
2. Vaccaro. If he is assigned to Gonzalez, he has to get us off the field on 3rd down. Gonzalez is a big third down and goalline weapon. If he can help limit the Falcons TOP, gives Brees and Co. more possessions.

Stop Steven Jackson. Stop the run and kill their play action.

Good call because you know they will take some shots over the top with their play action.
I will add that turnovers and getting off the field in the red zone with 3 points will be huge for us.

Offensive consistency. Running or throwing, there has to consistent movement and conversion of 3rd downs. Do not leave the D in poor field position. Atlanta is capable of a quick strike. Gotta take that away.
Which leads me to ball control. The Saints have to run the ball effectively. Key word. Effectively.
On D. They won't stop the WRs or TE. They have to control the running game. Long down and distances. Pressure Ryan. Sacks preferable.
Hidden yardage. Minimize big special teams plays. Minimize penalties.
If all else, get the ball first, score early and let the crowd into the game. If Drew is feeling it and the crowd is into it, it will be a long day for the Falcons.

Jackson has been very unSaintly in the past.
