Batman would always beat Superman, because Superman is a dumbass.

I know the writers at DC have decided that Superman has a genius IQ, which he uses to formulate plans like "I'm going to punch that thing in the face" or "I am going to fly, run real fast, and then punch that thing in the face."

Batman is always thinking. He always has a contingency, and a contingency for that contingency.

The caveat with Batman is preparation. Given enough time to prepare, Batman can beat anyone. A-N-Y-O-N-E.

But in a spur of the moment "punch you in the face" battle, Superman wins because of the genius IQ that DC writers have decided he has. . .

Max Landis makes several good (and hilarious) points regarding that in this video:

Superman is traditionally written as a genius (like since the Golden Age). He has actually been depowered and dumbed down by the writers in order to elevate other heroes.

I think the better question is who is smarter.

I enjoy his commentary, but just because a guy has a camera doesn't make him the absolute authority on comics. IMO, his superman pov is very skewed.
