I cut a piece of bicycle tube to put over the grip. It covered all the aggressive texturing and still gives a solid feel in my hand.

I already bought the 8 round mag but will likely carry it with the 7. The extension on the 8 makes a noticeable hard edge when I'm wearing a t-shirt.
