I last saw Don Pedigo at the 19th JDC courthouse (the old one, before they moved) about 3 years ago, and he said the bank "took" his restaurant (the one off of Dallas Dr.), and that he was trying to get the key from them so he can get his equipment out.

I didn't wanna tell him that the same bank that had a lien on the building probably had also filed attachments on his equipment in order to secure whatever debts he had with them.

He didn't look good, (he was using a walker) and would have probably keeled over right there if i had told him that. That was three years ago ... in July of 2010.

Figured it'd be better to bump this thread than start a new one.
Went here tonight to check it out, it is affiliated with the original Pedigo's, seems to be run by Donald Ray.
You have a choice of an 8oz steak for $13, or a 24oz steak for $25. That's it. They will split the 24oz steak for two for $30. You get a baked potato, salad and texas toast.
The salad was just chopped iceberg, nothing special. The potato was ridiculously small, about the size of 1 1/2 golf balls, I thought it was just mine but my wife's was the same and a cursory look around at the other tables revealed the same as well. You can get the potato loaded, and they don't tell you at the time, they'll charge you an extra $2 per potato. That $2 affords you a good pinch of shredded cheese, a pinch of baco-bits, and a tube of sour cream.
The steak. I found it on par with a Lone-star, or Texas Roadhouse steak. Very poor, fatty cut of meat. I ordered mine medium rare and it was cooked as ordered, if maybe a little on rare side definitely not a deal breaker but the outside of the steak was terribly charred. Solid burnt black to the point it affected the taste of each bite. That, combined with the really poor quality of the meat, made for a pretty bad steak. didn't finish half of it.
The staff was very friendly and tried hard to be attentive but a bit on the inexperienced side so they tended to get sidetracked in trying to manage everything. They were very busy and packed. I have a feeling they are living on nostalgia, we were the youngest people in the place. Everyone else was 60 or over.
