But it's not that common in typical American cuisine. The Bible is based in the middle east. Our Western European ancestors didn't eat much of it and didn't pass the taste for it down. Damn, I'm wanting some lamb kebabs now....

god instructed the Israelites to eat lamb. you know how much pull Jews have in America? lamb is pretty ubiquitous I think.
