Deer Attractant

New to the board but have been hunting all my life. getting ready for the season and going to try some new deer attractants this year besides just corn in a feeder. What are you guys having success with? Anybody use Big and J stuff?

I've had luck with doe urine. I saturate tampons and tie them to low branches 50 ft or so from feeder. I've seen bucks walk up and lick them.

Big and J is like crack. Where we hunt, they eat however much we put out over night.
It's pretty damn high at $20/sack though.

my grandpa always told me to pee in scrapes and it pisses bucks off and they frequent them more. Pee is free too.

Im looking to try something different this year too. Never heard of Big and J but might have to check it out

It's mainly ground up corn with attractant and minerals. Deer destroy it though.

It is expensive. I picked up a bag after I saw it on a TV. Figured what the hell. I also got their block which should last longer.
Gonna put them out this weekend at a new lease and put a camera on it to get an idea of what's moving around and try to get a pattern before season starts.

Put a salt lick out now.
Use corn during the season.
Find some type of power(Acorn/Rice/Etc) to give you a lil somethin extra

Yeah I just went and did a little research on it. From what I read the cube and BB2 supplement bag are essentially the same. The also have the XX bag that you add to your corn in the feeders. Which one do you like to put out?

We've never used the cube. I think it came out this summer.
We use whatever the co-op has available. BB2 if they have both. The XX is supposedly more concentrated/stronger and is made to be mixed with a corn/rice bran pile.

No prob. Post some results after you put it out. I know deer in different areas respond to different feeds/attractants differently.

the deer at my place have been destroying this stuff
during the season i usually stick with corn tho

where do you hunt if you don't mind me asking?
Posted on 8/9/13 at 10:16 am to Slickback
I will give an update after I put it out. I will be there almost every weekend until the season starts getting things ready as it is a brand new place that wasn't hunted last year.
I also have a few salt licks and corn rage stuff that I will add to the feeders. See how that goes as well.

South of Shreveport is where I use Big and Js.
I'm on a club down by Convent that is all swampland too. I don't bait much there though. I usually put it out preseason to get pics though and it works well there too.

B&J will work, but pigs typically find it first

I heard soda ash brings them in. We are going to try that this year
