CFA Level II Books/Prep Question

For those that have taken the exam, which of the books do you recommend? For level I, I used the CFA books but quickly found them to be long winded and inefficient. I'd appreciate any thoughts or concerns about study prep for arguably the hardest exam i'll ever take.

Schweser worked well for me for L1, so I'm going to use those again.

I think mine came out to 1500 but that included a class I attended as well. You could probably get the books for 6-700 or so I would guess, there are a ton of different options. Don't get the video lectures, do get the Qbank and the secret sauce.

So, y'all have done the series 7 and state exams? How were those?

I've only done the 7, but didn't think it was too bad. There's a decent amount of material but nothing is conceptually difficult.

What all can you do with the series 7 and state exams banking wise?

What's wrong with asking lots of questions?
Posted on 7/29/13 at 9:48 pm to wegotdatwood
nothing. But a lot of this stuff is easily attainable by a quick google search.

Doesn't it cost about 1000 dollars to take each test?

Also is this true?
Read that on Investopedia.

Yes. You have to be degree in process to take Level 1. Then for 2 & 3, you must have a degree. Your 4 yrs experience can come after you've taken all the tests, you don't need the experience to sit for the tests.
And yes, quite expensive, by the time I got my passport up to snuff and all, I'm around $1300-1400 for Level 1

Yes and yes.
I wouldn't worry about the 4 years though, very very few people pass all 3 exams on the first try and even if you did you would just have to wait a year to get your certificate. You could still tell potential employers that you had passed all exams and are fulfilling your work experience to be eligible for your charter.
