I posted this before on a thread talking about banded birds but its worth a repost:
I shot 3 canada geese from a flock – all were banded and the numbers were consecutive xxxxx-15, 16 and 17. My uncle shot at same flock got one bird no band. To be honest I was surprised to get 3 geese w 3 shots and no I wasn’t floating a 4th shell ;) (had a 1187 then) – killed the 1st 2 dead as hammers the last one had to chase down. I talked w a DU and FWS bio and this was the 1st time they ever heard of a triple w/ consecutive #s.

Another really CSB.
I've been pretty lucky (not THAT lucky), but I really do think my banded kills/total kill ratio is way higher than the average duck hunter. I've posted this before, but one of the banded birds I killed was a mallard drake that was tagged about 10 years before I killed it. The numbers on the band were almost worn down to being unreadable. The guy I was hunting with emptied his gun before I shot on that one too.
