The Yankees are giving money to the investigation team so he can get a lifeitme ban and they won't have to pay him

How would they justify a lifetime ban? Even if they treat his original PED use as a first offense, the second strike is supposed to be 100 games. And there's no provision for upping it to a lifetime ban for lying.

If they try to use the "best interests of baseball" clause, it's going to look comical. There have been plenty of other occasions where they could have done that and didn't.
