I am looking to change banks from Regions to someone else. Any advice from the MB on a better alternative? I just use regular checking and savings accounts. TIA

I was really considering rejoining the credit union I was a member of before I moved away.

Were do you live? I find small town banks are better. Checking, no fees and free checks even though we don't write many anymore.

I like local community banks. You get way better service and no stupid fees

Generally, you will find better rates at credit unions. I don't even have a member fee at the one I belong to, so I guess you just need to shop.

Some of these posters prefer small town banks; I used to work for a smaller bank, and I can tell you, it is a lot easier/quicker to have issues resolved with a larger institution.

If you're young and just looking for free checks, a small bank will do; if you're a little older and have a little change in your account, go with a credit union.
