I know its been talked about here before and I cant recall the credit card it was and what the rewards were. But Im going to St. Lucia next March and will be spending a substantial amount of money. And I know with one of these credit cards I can put the expenses on there get the rewards then pay it off and cancel it. Can someone help me out with the details on this? Thanks!

Any airline card pretty much or annual fee waived card that gives quite a bit of money back.
Don't cancel the card right after, hurts average length of credit history.

chase sapphire preferred waives foreign transaction fees. you also get $400 when you spend $3000.
It does charge a $95 annual fee after 1st year. But, you can downgrade the card right before to get around that.
like wegotwood said, don't close it.

Don't look at just sign-up bonuses. There are numerous cards out there that give you bumps for threshold spending in a calendar year. Find the balance that works for you
