1) YNWA
2) Fields of Athenry
However, I'm not a fan of Fields of Anfield Road. I hate it when we have to plagiarize another team's songs.

stupid arse sarcastic hashtag
Yeah, I was making fun of Americans who blindly say stupid shite like that like a pack of intellectually vapid Philistines. Only a willfully offended idiot would be insulted by a statement that obviously has a number of moving parts involved. It would have been different if I had sarcastically said RIP or whatever.
But you said "Jesus frick" and stuff. I'm not going get angry about it though because it's just a message board and I'm not intellectually dishonest enough to disregard the fact that I have laughed a Holocaust joke or two in my day (even though that's honestly not even analogous to my statement).

By you? Nah. You have a shtick, after all, and abide by it religiously.
Someone like cash, however, whose opinion I do respect and whose posts I enjoy reading, yea. More like a sucker punch than anything though - it takes a bit more for me to actually feel insulted. He is an intelligent guy who knows his soccer history, traditions and culture very well. It would logically follow that a dig from him would carry a bit more weight.

Who on this website says that phrase without at least a hint of personal emotion and respect? None of us are lemmings. Almost all of us have been to Liverpool and are personally invested in what you assume is some phrase we just utter to sound cool. Some by association, some by personal or familial experience.

Obviously? I think its pretty evident by the responses that its far from obvious. The only obvious thing seems to be that you intentionally over-complicate your reasoning to justify what you said. I know you don't like Liverpool. That's fine. But don't say things like that without expecting someone to get offended.

True. I didn't just drop that disrespectful gem for no reason though. Not that it justifies its use.

Because we are Americans and the statement has dangerous overtones. My understanding is that the statement originated from the gross oversight and subsequent cover-up at Hillsborough. The irony is that I doubt people who say that care about something like Benghazi, which is more current and relevant.
Fwiw I genuinely have no problem with LFC and certainly have no problem with you or its fans. I would never pretend to be able to say the word Scouser in a disparaging way with a straight face.
