yeah, you don't want to restrict the flow on the inlet on those march pumps bc you can lose your priming.
So if you want to slow down the flow rate you have to put the ball valve on the outlet of the pump.

Ah yes, I was confused for a second. I was thinking you were referring to the pump supplying the sparge water. How is sparge water supplied in your setup?
