I skipped the whole bottling stage but that sounds like a winner to me. Only bad thing I could see is if the yeast are still active, that's why they haven't settled out, and you may end up with bottle bombs because they're still working, producing more CO2. Not at all saying that's what's happening but only negative I could think of.
