Yeah agreed. But it's still sounding like a heat issue. My guess is it's heating up then binding on the stock. Check to see if it stays floated or not. If not, problem solved. Float it. If it's not floated from the beginning then you never stood a chance in the first place.

My M77 .308 is good for deer hunting..but it's no tack driving, sub MOA rifle that's for sure.

I don't know if I'd trust it with a shot over 200yds.
