Not a bad idea if you can afford it.


It's not that difficult fishing around Grand Isle in the summer. There are some not so secret spots that are easy to find.


1. The rocks in Caminada pass.

2. The beach in front of Elmer's island. Just hang a right as you come out of Caminada pass by bridgeside.

3. The rock jetties in front of the state park. This is on the opposite end of he island from Bridgeside. For a smoothier ride cut through the bay to get through and loop around the East end of the island. You can't miss them.

4. Islands in the bay behind Grand Isle to the North. I have fished them with some success but I'm not as familiar with these. It's trial and error. Hop from island to island till you find them.

I may just watch the fishing reports and checkout all of these spots on my maps

load them into my gps

Can you just run to the east side of the island on the bay side, or do you have to pick your way through? Seems to me it gets shallow at times.
