I loved the movie, but it was an incredibly devastating piece of work. Schindler's List is just sickening from a level of brutality and evil, but Grav of the Fireflies is kind of the opposite, in that its how heartless and unforgiving humanity in general can be to people who truly deserve their pity and help. Schindler came through, but in this film no one is there to help them.
