If McLemore is available, I would take him in a heartbeat with this in mind: trade Gordon and Vasquez for Rondo and Courtney Lee. I understand that Gordon's value is low, but it's not outside of the realm of possibility for Boston to be interested. He would be the lone big contract on the books. Jason Terry's bloated contract would still be there, but we at least take Courtney Lee's back in the trade. For Boston, they have a 4 guard rotation of Vasquez, Gordon, Bradley, and Terry which is pretty solid. They are set at 3 positions for the future with Jeff Green stepping in as a starter at either the 3 or the 4. They need to address their front court badly still, but that's okay. Bass and Sullinger are decent pieces for the future, and they will still be bad enough to get a good pick in 2014, not to mention they may send Garnett to LAC for 1st rounders.
Is this realistic or am I smoking crack?
I'm going to keep going because I have little else to do.
For the Pelicans, we have Rondo as the starter at PG. He's not a good jumpshooter by any means, and is coming off of an ACL injury, but he's still an All-Star without a doubt. His defense and ability to orchestrate an offense would be invaluable with Anthony Davis. McLemore, Rivers, or Lee could start at the 2. I could live with a rotation of Lee, Aminu, and Anderson at the 3.
Again, I ask, am I smoking crack?
