I'd agree with that. I think certain positions on the field take a little more seasoning, before you can really begin speculating on a player's potential. Playing as a lone target striker is one of those positions.
I think that's why SAF liked to deploy him on the wings so often. He's big, fast, and willing to run at defenders. Is he a lifetime red devil, probably not. But he's useful enough to stay in the team for a few years.

I think that's a fair assessment. He has the physical tools to be really good, no one can take that from him.

was shinji kagawa wearing a sports bra during the game this morning? it looked like he was to me when he changed from his warm up to his game jersey as he was coming on.
this leads to my next question; is shinji kagawa really a woman?

It was a Manzier not a bra.
Even if he was a woman he would still be better than the teenage emo girl (Nasri) you have in midfield.

Every Man U player has worn those for years now. Tracks heart rate, distance covered, ETC..

you'll get no argument from me. I'm no fan of Sami. that said, I'm glad he doesn't wear a sports bra.

Fabregas bid is still ongoing. Would love to see a 13-14 first team 11 that looked something like this.
Kagawa------RvP-------Valencia
-------Rooney-Fabregas-------
--------------Carrick---------------
Evra--Vidic-Ferdinand--Rafael
-----------De Gea-------------

I thought this was pretty cool

IIRC, the only other club that anyone ever thought he'd play at was Oldham
WRT the friendly this morning, Shinji Kagawa missed from about eight yards out, missed a penalty, but finally scored on a close-range shot from a pretty difficult angle against his old club.
ETA: He came off for Zaha. Zaha is still good

I'm starting to think United isn't going to make any significant signings before the start of the season. I'm also starting to lose faith in Moyes already...he can't close the deal. He missed out on Thiago, he can't sign Cesc, Bale or Fellaini...hell he played for him at Everton & he still won't sign! now reports are he's looking at Modric. Seems desperate to me...
Or is it Moyes? LINK
Let’s not forget the Rooney fiasco...Moyes has been labeled a "dinosaur" for his training methods. United needs a solid mid and a defender or two IMO and it doesn't look like either will happen.
I've got a bad feeling about this season...hope I'm wrong

Fall back plan, imo. He clearly has his sights set higher.

Cesc
Unlikely, but the rumour is that United will likely prepare a third bid.

In what way? Modric would be an excellent signing.

I totally agree...it's just he's like the sixth option which makes it look desperate to me.

I think they have and he's not going anywhere...never thought I'd be so happy to see two former Gooners playing for United

I'm not buying it.. Sir Alex certainly had his problems signing players at times. Cesc was always a long shot anyways IMO

I found this on page 5. PAGE FIVE PEOPLE. We, as posters, are terrible. Lets catch up with these other season long threads.

What shall we talk about? Nothing is happening. We're not getting Cesc, Rooney isn't moving unless we land a major player.

i was bored and inebriated. there really isn't much to talk about except for rumors and I am done talking about rumors. I'll discuss transfers as they are completed.

I checked on it yesterday
Like 3rd row said nothing is happening...I make my rounds a few times a day to see the latest on Cesc, CR7 and Wazza...I guess I need to deal with the fact nothing is happening during this transfer window...However, I did see on FSC last night CR7 agreed to a 5 yr extension at RM, allegedly...I hope that's not true.
I think Wazza will leave but it's not going to be within the BPL...after the season RvP had last year United would be stupid to sell him to a Chelski or Arsenal

SPEAK FOR YOURSELF.
Yeah, nothing's going on. I guess we could whine about how we're being completely idiotic in our constant attempts to get Cesc, which I said wouldn't happen the day the first bid was rumored.
Read that Evans hobbled off the field today. Still don't know how to react to that news.
If we sell Rooney, let's do it quick and have a big signing lined up in the wings.

Are you guys as surprised as I am that Moyes hasn't tried to raid Everton? Baines and Felliani are pretty realistic options. For that matter I'm surprised Martinez hasn't bought James McCarthy and McManaman.
