Milos Raonic is so very very bad at the game of tennis.

Djoker is -10.5 games against Bobby Reynolds.
Hahahahaah.
If you bet on Djoker, he has to win 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 or worse for you to win. And yet even as I look at that I'm not gonna bet on Bobby Reynolds.

I wish I was a freak of nature (height wise), half of what he is. I'm not short, but 5'7" for women in tennis is kind of short.

Bernard Tomic is a jerk, and knowing his support for his daddy, I know he will not amount to much. Mentally he is weak. I've seen him melt down in matches way too many times.

You would be okay at 5-7. There was girl I went to HS with that was like 5-2, maybe 5-3. She was really really good -- her game was textbook -- but just didn't quite have the firepower to be really really REALLY good. She played #4 for Va Tech, as I recall.
If you watched her play and then watched me play, you'd bet she would beat me, but the girl never took a set off me. My biggest asset in tennis is that I move well, and this just frustrated the crap out of her. She would end up going for too much on her shots and I would win every single set like 6-3 or 6-4.
Completely irrelevant, but i banged her a few times. Her dad was my tennis pro, and I'm pretty sure he figured that out. At one point he stopped being quite as friendly as he'd been the previous 10 years. Oh well.
I'm short for a dude, but it wasn't groundstrokes that held my game back. It was my serve. Which sucked and still sucks, and always ends up devolving int two second serves hit into the backhand side of their body every single damn time.
That was great in HS in WV. But at a level higher than that, you've gotta make the serve a weapon. Mine isn't.

I have a very good serve (for a woman). I have a lot of topspin with my forehand, decent backhand, and good slice from both wings, but I started playing wayyy too late (30s). I move well (I'm athletic built), and I'm fairly strong- I can take pace. I'm a tennis nerd. I take a lot of lessons (privates every week), so technique is important for me- I like to hit like a pro lol, but I started just too late. :-( I used to be a dancer, so I had no time for tennis. I've never been able to beat my hubby, and he plays one of two times a month. I've been playing 4-5 x week, for the past 6 years. It is mainly a mental thing with him (he has made my cry of anger on court lol), but women against men, really unless you are talking about a 4.0 women vs a 3.0 or lower man, there is just too much disparity.
I think Radwanska is about 5'7", and to me she plays the prettiest tennis of all the women. She has great technique and flawless shot selection, she is just too short and skinny. If she was 6' like Vika or 6'2" like Sharapova, she would have won many grand slams already. These days, the top women just over power her, because she is skinny built. I have very similar built. You cannot win grand slams these days with that built IMO, unless you have a LOT of luck.

I like Ag Rad's game as well. She hits a nice variety of shots.

You don't think Hingis could win majors today (if you took Serena out of the equation*)?
*Serena is just a different story, her game is in a different stratosphere

Serena is a freak. I want her to go away already she is a biotch.
Maybe Radwankska will get lucky and win one eventually, but heavy hitters are currently ruling. The future stars seem to be heavy hitters as well.
There is a reason why Ferrer has never won a grand slam. He is just too short.

Vika isn't just a hard hitter, either. She is a really good athlete.

And he just doesn't do enough. Michael Chang won a major. Marcelo Rios probably would have won a major if his body would have held up longer. Chang was faster than Ferrer but other than that their games weren't terribly different. Marcelo Rios, on the other hand, was just an absolute artist on the court. They speak of Federer's artistry. They need to pull up youtube clips of Rios. Guy was poetry in motion. I think for a little guy to be elite in today's game, it would have to be a guy like Rios. Basically Rios with some dedication to fitness and a good personal trainer.

Andy Murray says he'll play Serena in an exhibition. Mentions Vegas a possible location.
Murray will take on Serena in Vegas, why not?

I'm not saying is impossible for a short player to win a major, but the odds are stacked against them. Isner serving is like me serving on a 10 and under court. The angles available to taller players are a ridiculous advantage.
Vika is athletic, but that isn't what makes her good. She is good because she is tall, very consistent, can absorb the pace of heavy hitters, hit back with great pace, and switch from offense to defense very quickly. She is one of my favorites. Sharapova is mainly offense, Serena has gotten better at defending, but frankly she doesn't need to be, it is hard to dictate against her. She can win matches just serving and returning.
I went to Indian Wells this year. The difference between Ursula Radwanska, and Maria Sharapova, or even Victoria is simply stunning. Kerber, she is about 5'10", but her legs and built are huge. Radwanska, Kirilenko, Ursula Radwanska are twigs compared to these other women. I have not seen Serena play, but I've seen Venus, and I would chit my pants if I had to hit a ball against either one. I'm sure Serena just walks on court and is up a set just with the intimidation factor in play.

I'm surprised India has so many people who love tennis. I guess is the british rule.
The world loves fútbol. Whatever.
Tennis is the best individual sport. It is the best one on one sports competition.
The exhibition will be good. From Wiki re: Williams sisters vs men
I know Serena isn't the same player, but no FREAKING WAY SHE BEATS MURRAY IF THEY BOTH WENT ALL OUT. Although it is an exhibition match. Should be fun.

Karsten Braasch vs. the Williams sisters[edit]
A fourth event dubbed "Battle of the sexes" took place during the 1998 Australian Open[18] between the 203rd ranked male player Karsten Braasch and the Williams sisters. The match took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park.[19] First Braasch - who was 30 at the time - took on Venus Williams and beat her 6–2. He also played Serena Williams and won 6–1 after the Williams sisters, who were 17 and 16 at the time, said they could beat any man ranked 200 or worse. [20] Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance" as he claimed he had played like someone ranked 600 in order to keep the game "fun."[21]

And I like Blake. He's a good guy, and I've always rooted for him, but that backhand is difficult to watch.
Yea, but he was so damn fun to watch. It was awesome watching someone barely be on the screen cause he could hit nothing but forehands. He was entertaining to watch no doubt.
What year was it where he pushed Fed to the brink at the US Open? Am I remembering that wrong? I feel like they had an epic match once.

He definitely pushed Agassi to the brink and should have beat him, but was a bit too much in awe of him. I have to say, I am watching the replay right now, and he is playing really fricking good. Mashing the backhand, too. Tomic is just showing amazing range and some power I didn't know he had since Tomic sometimes plays junkball.
to 42 year Kimiko Date for winning two matches.

Maybe that's the match I'm thinking of.
I remember there being one match where I thought "damn, maybe he's gonna turn the corner" and then nothing ever came of it.

You might be thinking of Agassi and Blake. They had a great great match in '04 or '05.

But I guess the problem is that they've run out of handicapping gimmicks, and if Murray plays straight up, I think he'll dominate Serena. And if so, then what will we learn that we didn't already know?
