I believe it. It's not that it's hard and several hundred miles
is nothing. It's just extremely expensive. I'm guessing
20K.

So where do you get your knowledge of the ease of moving large trees (live and intact) several hundred miles, and the cost associated with such a task???

This. And I get my knowledge because I'm educated.

It's not easy, but you can absolutely move a tree.

Hell, there are plenty of businesses that count on it.
