I'd like to nominate this thread for a 2 Chainz award for most ridiculous.

At least Bho doesn't have footage of us playing FIFA together. The play where you tried to walk the ball into a wide open net and walked it over the end line instead.
If that was in .gif form.

to be slightly fair, that pic was from over two years ago. many, including myself (though to a lesser degree than OP) got caught up in Juan-mania and it wasn't like Jozy was showing much at the time. any recent comments should definitely be trolled, but otherwise it's better to focus on how much Jozy has improved these past couple of years, because it's been rather remarkable.

I just didn't remember Teal possibly being better than Jozy back then...but, now that I search it, Teal did have nine goals in MLS that year while Jozy was months away from getting that AZ move.

If im not mistaking. Teal also had 2 goals in 2 apps with the USMNT ?
But, that could be highly wrong.

juan and teal had a brief moment in the sun and it just happened to coincide with the nadir of jozy's career. a combination of recency, lack of perspective, love of a shiny new thing(s)...

It's strange how you don't hear anymore "I blame Jurgen" posts when it comes to Jozy's form. Those weren't much worse than Juan > Jozy.

He's got one goal in four matches. Scored the USMNT's lone goal in a 1-1 friendly with Chile in 2011.
He kinda slacked off for SKC last year, and then he tore his ACL in August. Just now coming back from that. But he did have 12 goals in 34 matches in 2011...however, all that was before that post in question was made.
I'll be honest, I didn't follow the league as a whole back in 2011 as much as I do now. I was still getting into MLS after years of ignoring it.

People forget that these are extremely young strikers. People expected far too much from Jozy at too young of an age, and then transferred those unreasonable expectations onto Agudelo.

What was remarkable was that Altidore was playing in the BPL as a target striker as a 19 year old. He learned the game so much there that it was only a matter of time before he was able to put it together. Yet his goal-scoring is still precocious for someone of his size and proclivities.

Juan has never been better than Jozy at anytime during the past two years. Sorry, he had a goal that made everyone go crazy but was never better. He is talented as all hell but Jozy is just on another level.

I failed.
But my post is also from two years ago. Agudelo had just scored in back to back games against South Africa and Argentina, and it would take Jozy two years to hit form with the national team. Back in 11 he wasn't scoring goals for anyone. Jozy is starting to establish himself as a world class striker. He looked like a completely different player after he scored that goal against Germany. Not only is he scoring goals, but his hold up play has been fantastic. I'm fricking excited. The USMNT is knocking it around like Jurgen said we would when he took over the job. Pressuring high. It's beautiful.

So you admit that your post was jumping the gun a little and was a little ridiculous? If you can admit this I can never bring it up again.

True dat bro! Same with Adu. I think Adu has to get with it mentally and put in the work to be excellent. But, he is still relatively young. I'm not saying Adu is going to be a superstar. However, he can come in and be a contributor. If he gets his mental game down pat.
