IMO y'all were two people behind a foursome. They have the right to the course, but i firmly believe in letting people play through. i would have done the same thing....

in fact when i played last friday we were a twosome behind a threesome. they were playing terribly slow. there was one rather short par 4, about 320 yards or so. i don't normally hit it that far, but with a good wind i could push it there, and as we all know the wind has been howling lately.
they were on the green and i planted one in the front bunker. one guy gave us a nice 45 second stare when it happened, then got a stare while walking to their cart, then some more stare while they were on the next tee box.
at first we discussed going apologize as i did not think i'd get it there (however i knew i could tap my inner ryno). but then we saw that they had someone hitting multiple shots off the tee and in the fairway, so i didn't feel as bad.

in closing, people need to get out of the way if they are slow or they're less people behind them. i always let people through because i hate someone riding our tail.

eta: i typically Sergio if someone ahead is going to slow or if someone is on our arse. but don't sergio if it's slow simply because the course is packed.

I get more nervous when I feel like my group is holding up another group than pretty much any other time on the course. I can't stand when my group is responsible for slow play.
