I guess he was overcompensating to make sure he didn't sound like a homer, but he missed tje mark pretty badly, imo.

You must not have played sports. If anything, LSU wanted to win more today than most games. The guys playing today were trying to prove something. Also, a pitcher never goes out to the mound thinking it's okay if I give up a few runs, because we don't gain anything by winning.
The coaches limited themselves by how they subbed guys in and out early in the game.
