I just picked up a marlin, think its an XL-7, in 25-06. It was used, paid $225, new they run about $300. I put a redfield revenge scope on it. $375 total in it. Plus redfield has a $40 mail in rebate right now on the revenge scopes. This rifle also comes in other calibers.

Man, I completely forgot about the Marlin Model 7. I bought one a few years ago as a "camp gun" or loaner. Including an inexpensive Pentax scope, nice Burris rings and Weaver base, I've got much less than $400 in it. It shoots sub MOA w/ 2 different factory loads.
