The burden is not in buying them, the burden is when you're average gamer is at a huge disadvantage because they can't shell out hundreds of dollars to advance their team/character. And I'd say this is all fine if you aren't getting a competitive advantage (character outfits, etc.). But of course they'll give it a competitive advantage, because more people are likely to reluctantly spend the money for that boost.

The problem really comes into play in multiplayer games where you can pay-to-win. I don't play star wars games and I wont be getting this one, so I dont really care if EA makes it pay-to-win or not. But for the people buying it, that kinda thing just sucks IMO.

If one could pay for boosted standard team rosters which are used competitively then there might be an issue. As it stands the average gamer isn't at a disadvantage because he doesn't frick with MUT and MUT isn't used competitively.

MUT is a bonus feature. it's kinda shitty to hate a company just because of an optional feature in the game that you don't have to buy
