I think the program has no choice but to let him go permanently if for no other reason than to set an example.
If he's found guilty, then I agree. All of that remains to be seen though.
In the event that the only punishment he receives is stricter probation rules, do you still think he deserves to be dismissed from the team just to set an example? I think that's a little harsh and unfair to an extent.
Of course all of this goes bak to the outcome of the case. It's hard to speculate when we really don't have a clue as to what I going to happen in court. He very well may have the charges dropped and walk away clean.

quote:Found guilty or not, the main problem I have with the young men who have the opportunity to play collegiate sports at an institution as as LSU is their decision making. They have to start realizing that they are NOT just a "regular" student. There are some students and others walking amongst them that resent the fact that they are there on an athletic scholarship. I know this may sound strange, but there are people that will take an arse whoopin at the hands of an college athlete just to get that athlete in trouble. They will say and do certain things to push buttons hoping to get a reaction out of them. They have to understand and learn to recognize these situations and avoid them. Walk Away!
