This is the only reasonable discussion I've been able to have on it. The brain trust that believes SP can do no wrong and are in denial about our D and draft record since 09 jumped up my arse defending the pick when they know deep down they don't like it either. Ironically the last time I bitched this much is when we took Dante stallworth when Ed reed was on the board. fricking haslett and his 40 times.

So what your saying is that because folks disagree that the Saints blew the pick vs we played it safe we are in denial about the defense?

I think I was just surprised at how extreme some of the negative reaction was by those who preferred Jones. Of course, I had my doubts about Jones in the first place (although I freely admit he could turn out to be a stud in the NFL, especially under LeBeau). Like I said, KV seems to be a safe pick and should contribute right away. If Galette, Butler, and company along with the 3-4 don't pan out, then I guess we're fricked for another year.
Yeah, Reed may have been a better choice.
But, dude, I have a little more faith in the current regime.
