I always thought Eric was a good guy---not thug! Don't disrespect him or his memory!

Would you guys consider Shaq a thug too? He had his moments.....
I heard from a very reliable source that Dale kept Shaq in line with one threat -- he'd threaten to call Sgt. Harrison. Shaq was terrified of Sgt. Harrison. And, when Sgt. Harrison did come to campus, Shaq would turn into a six year old, begging people to hide him from his dad. Apparently, Sgt. Harrison didn't take ANY sh!t -- from Shaq or otherwise.

The problem is we live in the Information Age. Anytime a kid does something it's all over twitter within the hour. Back then you just didn't hear about stuff as much.

Fights amongst football players and random a-holes in bars have and always will happen as long as the players frequent those places. Problem is nowadays there are cameras, cellphones, media running around looking for things, etc. Back in the day the cops would cover things up way more than they do now, they more than likely want to be the cop to make the arrest and gain the notoriety. We know way more about an athlete's past and personal situation now and it all just makes it so more important for the athlete to act in a responsible manner than ever before. To think otherwise is asking for it.
Now, in Jeremy Hill's case and also with the JJ thing last year, for me anyway, it was never about the fact that they got into a fight. Heck, I was full of testosterone when I was that age myself. It's the fact that JJ (supposedly) kicked a man in the face while he was down and Jeremy sucker-punched a guy with another guy hitting him as well. Yeah, I am old school and we didn't look up to guys that did those things. When you got into a fight and got the guy down, it was over. Dirty fighting was frowned upon unless it was a do or die situation. It's just not that way anymore, honor has become a thing of the past. Sadly.
