I agree. But because a "pro" uses a 1911 doesn't mean "john q" should. A sharpened pencil is a deadly weapon in the hands of a SEAL. In my hands it's likely to just turn into a pencil with broken lead.

You actually reinforce my point. Over and over it was, "Not using a pistol that holds more rounds is stupid," but I always countered that many of the examples he would, or could, cite are simply uncomfortable for me and I don't like shooting them. I'm more comfortable with a 1911 than a Glock so that's what I should use. Doesn't mean someone else won't be perfectly content with using a Glock.
