Had an interesting thought while I was there today: All of the money that the local businesses, the ticket office, area hotels (all were sold out this weekend) and other vendors wouldn't have happened this weekend if the trees were going to live.

We would've had A-Day, and it would've been like every other one we've had.

But today was so incredible, one of the best ever days for Auburn people...and it's all because a lunatic rival fan poisoning the trees because he was upset about 2010.

We're still going to roll everything in sight when we win, no matter what's on the corner of College and Magnolia in the future. But it was a great last day with those two trees, and it wouldn't have happened if Updyke just stayed in Dadeville that day.

So many people today in Auburn got a lot of benefit from another man's act of stupidity.

There will be other trees. And, heck, we'll roll whatever's nearby if we win a few games this season (they're replanting trees and redoing the whole area after this season).

I mean, we were rolling bushes and other trees and even the freaking street signs, as you can see from Jumbeaux's picture. (I'm one of the white dots to the right of the stage, right by Toomer's Drugs.)
