It bothers me that you feel so casually about lying publicly to people. He could have just said "Sorry, but I'd rather not comment on such a controversial topic" but he may have had it with the PC culture that's so ever-present in universities, including LSU. He's also an athlete and probably not as tactful as say, an attorney or even a politician would be. Why was this seen as an appropriate question to even ask an athlete?

OK, I was being facetious with wondering why he wouldn't just lie. But, do you not realize that the players are literally trained from day 1 to say the right thing to the media? Hell, I know plenty of people who feel the same way as him. That's his birth-given right to feel the way he does and even to say so in a public forum. That's not my issue. I don't see why he couldn't have just declined comment. It showed a tremendous lack of foresight.

Also, if being tolerant/respectful to people of different sexual orientations is part of the "PC culture" that people seem to have such disdain for, then I'm all for it.
